In this scene, Anya and Xander are being attacked by some vines… or maybe just some crew workers holding some vines.

Shallow Hal (2001)Dir. The Farrelly Brothers
Disclaimer: No, I didn’t put this image together [clearly look at the watermark]. I just wanted to share a little story with you guys. This specific continuity error [there are two other ones within this shot as well] is the first continuity error I can EVER remember seeing. I specifically remember watching this on TV one day, probably in 2002/03, seeing the size of the cake change and looking it up online. I don’t think I’ve ever been the same since which is why I stared this blog!!!
So, I vow to do my best to at the very least, post my findings on the blog every weekend to start. Please, feel free to make movie suggestions, because honestly that’s the hardest part for me.
The other two errors in this shot are: The inside of the cake goes from two layers to just one and the knife is in a different position.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997) 1x08 - I, Robot … You, JaneDir. Stephen Posey
Let Me Count the Ways: If you know me, then you’ll know how difficult it is to point the flaws on Buffy. These two shots have all kinds of mistakes. During this episode, Buffy’s personal school records are hacked into. It’s 1997 in this episode and it’s know that Buffy is 16 and a Sophomore. In the first shot, her birthday is 10/24/1980 which would probably make her 17 [depending on the month] and probably not a Sophomore as stated. The second shot says her birthday is 05/06/1979. Which would also probably make her 17 and not a Senior. But which one is right? Neither, actually. The first one is right in the fact that she is a Sophomore, but Buffy’s birthday was declared to be January 19, 1981. That date was chosen due to the fact that it was the air date [January 19, 1998] of the first episode in which Buffy’s birthday was ever celebrated [when she actually turned 17]. The following year on that very day, the episode in which Buffy’s 18th birthday celebrated, aired.
[SIDENOTE: That was a whole lot of Buffy trivia. Sorry, once I start it’s kind of hard for me to stop.]

Angel (1999) 1x02 - Lonely HeartsDir. James Contner
I Spy: Continuity errors aren’t just limited to films, folks. I’ve been on a TV kick lately. I’ve been watching A LOT of Bones. I’m almost done with the fifth season. Seeing as the ever so perfect David Boreanaz is on Bones it got me thinking, ‘Hey, I’m a Joss Whedon/Buffy fanatic, but I never got into Angel.’ That thought, of course, lead me to decided to watch every single episode of Angel. Two episodes in and look at this! That’s two different arms from two different people AND a camera. I’m surprised they even used this shot. I mean, I wasn’t looking for any errors [when I’m watching films online, that I’ve seen before, I try to keep an eye open for things to post on here]. This literally made me go back and confirm that I did in fact see something out of the corner of my eye.

Sorry you guys

The posts as of late have been in very short supply. But we promise we have valid excuses! It’s the end of the semester & we have projects up the wazoo (yes, I just used the word “wazoo” in a sentence). Just give us a couple of weeks & we will resume being those lovable assholes that point out continuity errors in movies you know and love.

Thanks for understanding.

Yours Truly,

Alex & Mallorie

Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004)Dir. Adam McKay
Match on Action Fail: After the team finds out about the addition of a woman to the news crew, they gather in Ed Harken’s office. All of the them, except Ron Burgundy, let out their displeasures with the situation. During Brian Fantana’s rant, he’s gesturing with his right hand and his body is facing away from the camera. In the following shot, his body is facing the camera and he is gesturing, and eventually hits a desk, with his left hand.

Hook (1991)Dir. Steven Spielberg
Wait a minute…: Peter and his wife go to a big banquet dinner and while they are there Captain James Hook kidnaps their children. A big gust of wind opens the window and blows over a tent the children had mad earlier. After Peter comes back to find the house in shambles, Grandma Wendy tells him that he is in fact THE Peter Pan. Being hit with this heavy news, Peter goes on a little bit of a drinking binge. He goes up to the room where his children were taken, and whoa, the tents back up. Now, do to suspension of disbelief, you may think that it’s safe to assume they could have possible cleaned up the room [which it looks like they have], but I honestly think that setting up a makeshift tent is the last thing parents want to do after their children have been kidnapped.
